Tern, a Series A startup building software for travel advisors, has launched agentic AI tools for advisor workflows. They are working to help the admin layer around a booking.

Travel advisors spend a large part of the day outside the “sell a trip” moment: reading client emails, checking supplier updates, building cruise proposals, formatting itineraries, spotting missing details, and writing follow-ups.

According to PhocusWire, Tern’s AI can review an advisor’s inbox, flag messages that need attention, generate cruise proposals using live itinerary and supplier content, and draft client communications for approval.

The approval point is important. The advisor is still the person deciding what goes to the client.

A simple example: a client asks about a cruise. Instead of starting with a blank proposal and several supplier tabs, the advisor gets a prepared draft with itinerary and supplier details, then checks, edits and sends it.

Tools like this can be a game changer for small retail travel agent who are already operating on a low margin and can’t afford hire more to process higher volumes of travel requests.
